
Jointly organised by UOB FinLab and the National Arts Council, the third run of the Arts Acceleration Programme (previously known as Acceleration Programme for the Arts) is designed to support self-employed persons (SEPs) in the arts sector to strengthen their business and digital competencies for greater career sustainability and growth.
Through an exciting series comprising 4 sessions of panel discussions, industry sharings, hands-on learning and networking with fellow peers, gain tips and skills on personal brand management, business development and ways to manage a creative career more productively with digitalisation.

About the Sessions
The sessions will take place on weekday evenings between 7pm to 10pm at the Arts Resource Hub at 42 Waterloo Street.
Learn useful tips and strategies to build up a creative business as an SEP, with key frameworks such as understanding value proposition to better articulate your values and work, and exploring value-based pricing strategies to boost your career.

- Tan Siew Ann, Freelance Writer, lancerx
Siew Ann is a freelance writer specialising in digital marketing and entrepreneurship blog content. Over the last six years, she has built a regular base of clients from Singapore, the United States, Spain and other countries. Siew Ann also shares her freelancing experiences and insights in a fortnightly email newsletter to help freelancers run meaningful and sustainable businesses.
- Patrick Ng, Innovation Director, Spark Launchpad
Patrick Ng is passionate about innovation, helping enterprises identify innovation opportunities and build better products. With over 23 years in engineering and corporate experience, he filed 12 patent families and held leadership roles in innovation and R&D. Innovation and entrepreneurship are synonymous with Patrick; he offers venture creation knowledge to startups and corporates. Patrick also teaches entrepreneurship and innovation at universities, guiding founders on their venture journey.

- Toby Tan (tobyato), Visual Artist
tobyato is a visual artist illustrating his way through sprawling wall murals and artist-brand collaborations. His artworks are often bold, striking and inspired by traditional Asian motifs with playful influences that reflect both his own heritage and personality. As a lover of street culture, he has worked with brands such as Nike, ASICS, Samsung, Levi’s, and HUGO among others. Outside of his home island, he has also left his mark abroad, painting murals in Jakarta, Paris, and Los Angeles.

- Grace Lee Khoo, Founder of Access Path Productions
Grace Lee Khoo is the Founder of Access Path Productions, Singapore’s first disability-led theatre company. She graduated with an MA in Applied Theatre from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and a BA (Honors) from the National University of Singapore’s Theatre Studies program.
A director, performer, producer, dramaturg, drama educator, audio describer for the blind/vision-impaired and creative access consultant who works internationally, Grace was International Artist-in-residence at London’s Graeae Theatre Company in 2017.
Grace currently serves as the Lead Artist of the Inclusive Young Company (iYC), a holistic acting programme in collaboration with Singapore Repertory Theatre. With SRT, Grace has directed Kaite O’Reilly’s The 9 Fridas (2022), Sarah Kane’s 4.48 Psychosis (2023) and Hijinx Theatre’s Meet Fred (2024).
Significant works also include UK Unlimited commission Kaite O'Reilly And Suddenly I Disappear (2017-2018) that toured UK and Singapore, National Gallery Singapore Light to Night Festival commissions Glimpse (2023) and Self Portrait (2019) and Singapore Art Museum commissions desert of the ocean (doldrums) for Singapore Art Week 2024 and Patterns of Perception for Singapore Biennale 2023.
- Brian Gothong Tan, Multidisciplinary Artist
Brian Gothong Tan is celebrated for innovative theater, film, and installations. A California Institute of the Arts graduate (2005, Shell-NAC Scholarship), he has garnered multiple awards, including five Life! Theatre Awards for multimedia design (2005–2024). His works, blending eclectic multimedia, have toured globally (Italy, USA, UK, Korea) and featured in major exhibitions like Heavenly Cakes and Sentimental Flowers (Singapore Art Museum, 2003) and Hypersurface (Venice Architectural Biennale, 2004). He represented Singapore at the Commonwealth Games (2006) and Shanghai World Expo (2010).
In film, his photography/editing for Pleasure Factory (Cannes 2007) and directorial debut Invisible Children (2008) has travelled the international film circuit. He has directed visuals for major events, including Singapore’s National Day Parades (2009, 2011, 2016), Youth Olympics (2010), and SEA Games (2015). Recent projects span theater (Angel Island, SIFA 2023) and installations (The Singapore Bicentennial Experience, 2019).
Honoured with the Young Artist Award (2012) and Singapore Youth Award (2015), Tan serves as T:>Works’ Atelier artistic director and is Creative Director for NDP 2024. Current endeavours include revamping NMS’ Glass Rotunda and Heart & Soul at Library@Orchard.
- Liu Xiaoyi, Artistic Director of Emergency Stairs
Liu Xiaoyi is considered one of the most promising leaders at the forefront of the experimental theatre scene and cultural exchange network in Asia. He was involved in over 80 theatre productions as a director, a playwright, or an actor over the past two decades. Xiaoyi has remained steadfast in his pursuit of the development and transcendence of theatrical forms, while actively promoting cross-cultural and transnational dialogues. Outside of his creative endeavors, he is also a dynamic curator, educator, and cultural critic.
Major awards Xiaoyi has received include Lee Kuan Yew Gold Medal (2010), the Young Artist Award (2016) by the National Arts Council of Singapore, Nanyang Outstanding Young Alumni Award (2022), Patron of Heritage and the Arts Award (2023) by Nanyang Technological University, Golden Point Award (2017, 2019, and 2023), Global Outstanding Young Leaders Award by Asia Week (Yazhou Zhoukan) (2024).
Platforms initiated and curated by Xiaoyi include Re-viewer, Singapore's inaugural Chinese theatre critique platform (2014-present); Southernmost, intercultural arts festival (2017-2019); No More Theatre (2018-present), dedicated to fostering collaboration between digital technology and the arts; Emergency Academy (2020-present), the global youth cultural leadership incubator; and The Peripheral Experiment, independent arts festival (2014-present); young artists incubation platform Emergency Camp (2014-present); among others. Presently, Xiaoyi serves as the resident artist in Linjiang New District in Jiangsu Province, China, while holding the position of Senior Research Fellow and International Exchange Advisor at NAFA, within the University of the Arts Singapore.

Past Runs
The past 2 editions of the Arts Acceleration Programme (previously known as Acceleration Programme for the Arts) were designed to help arts organisations strengthen their business and digital capabilities towards greater sustainability and growth.
The Programme comprised panel discussions, industry sharing, hands-on learning, consultations and small group discussions on topics such as digital transformation, business development, business operations and digital marketing.
It was also a fruitful opportunity for arts practitioners from various disciplines to network, collaborate, and foster stronger relations with one another - nurturing a stronger sense of community within our diverse arts sector.
