The Advisory Council on Culture and the Arts (ACCA) was set up in 1988 to examine arts and culture development in Singapore and to realise the vision of a culturally vibrant society. Building on the recommendations of the ACCA, a series of three Renaissance City Plans (RCPs) was launched in the 2000s and the Arts and Culture Strategic Review (ACSR) was initiated to plot Singapore's arts and culture blueprint all the way through to 2025.
After extensive consultations with artists, the private sector, and members of the public, a report was published outlining the broad strategic directions for the growth of arts and culture in Singapore.
