Ongoing Studies

Arts and Culture Employment Study

The National Arts Council (NAC) seeks to hear from you on the working conditions, career motivations, professional development opportunities as well as the levels of digitalisation within the sector through a two-part survey for n=1,000 individuals and n=300 organisations in the arts and cultural sector. Fieldwork will be carried out from September to November 2024 in the form of online surveys and we would like to invite full-time, part-time, and self employed persons working in the arts and cultural sector as well as organisations operating in the sector to share your experience in 2023. The two surveys are managed by Oxford Economics, an independent advisory firm in conjunction with NielsenIQ, an independent market research company. Combining responses across the workforce, we will be able to develop policies that better support you and the wider arts community in honing skillsets and building viable careers in the arts ecosystem.

Audience Development Research

The National Arts Council (NAC) is placing audiences at the centre of Our SG Arts Plan (2023-2027) to build a sustainable arts ecosystem in Singapore. Fieldwork will be carried out from July to November 2024 in the form of interviews and surveys and we would like to engage our valued partners, art practitioners and organisations in the sector to share your views on how we may grow and develop arts audiences. These discussions will contribute to the development of resources to guide the sector on how we may reach and engage more diverse audiences to appreciate Singapore arts and culture.

Industry and Revenue Model Studies
(Visual Arts and Literary Arts)

The National Arts Council (NAC) has appointed Ipsos Pte Ltd, an independent research company to conduct a study aimed at understanding the industry and business revenue models for the Visual Arts and Literary Arts Sector. Fieldwork will be carried out from September 2023 to December 2024 in the form of in-depth interviews, surveys and focus group discussions as part of a mixed-methods approach to the study.
