For his significant achievements and contributions to the arts, Ng won the Cultural Medallion award in visual arts in 1981. From the late 90's to early 00's, Ng generously donated over 1000 of his artworks to the National University of Singapore Museum, which subsequently opened The Ng Eng Teng Gallery to showcase the artworks from his expansive oeuvre.
