Mars: The Red Mirror takes visitors on a journey from ancient myth to future possibilities and unveils the planet's evolving role across cultures through science, art, technology, and literature. It is the first exhibition to synthesize 12,000 years of cultural history surrounding Mars, bringing together ancient artifacts, drawings, films, scientific discoveries, and contemporary artworks. The exhibition weaves together enthralling narratives and viewpoints about Mars across diverse cultures, encouraging visitors to reflect on what is happening on our own planet, and the possibilities of a future on a hypothetical Planet B. A sensory, aesthetic, and intellectual experience awaits visitors, including a thought-provoking series of talks, educational activities and films at ArtScience Cinema that will resonate with people of all ages.
Presented by ArtScience Museum and Centre of Contemporary Culture Barcelona (CCCB) with Spanish curator Juan Insua, this programme is a part of Marina Bay Sands' art festival: Where Art Takes Shape.
