RECONNECT

RECONNECT is an exhibition by the Modern Art Society in conjunction with its first open house.

Modern Art Society has occupied its premise in Kampong Eunos for a few decades. This is the Society’s first exhibition since its relocation to its new industrial premise in 9@Tagore. Through this exhibition, the Society hopes to reconnect with the community and the public after such a displacement.

Artists from Modern Art Society namely Tan Seng Kok, Hubert Loi, Baet Yeok Kuan, Leo Hee Tong, Lim Choon Jin, William Goh, Angelene Ho, Quek Wei Ting, Teo Huey Ling, Esmond Loh, Junko Tsuji, Yeo Siak Goon, Lim Poh Teck and many others will be participating in this project. This project will involve both award winning established artists from our society and promising emerging artists who have recently joined the society as new members.

This exhibition will showcase both the old and new works of these artists, both revisiting what they created in the past and displaying the growth that has occurred over time.

Appetite is proud to present a group show exploring colour and it's historical, experiential, and anthropological lineage. From the geographies and routes of the spice trade, to the pigments and chemicals inherent to a land, the expressions of culture reveal themselves through the colours— hue, tint, tone and shade— that we find in food, textile, architecture, art, and everyday objects.
Loyang Point, #02-35
9 – 24 January 2021
Drawing from folklore, ghost stories, and residents’ personal memories of Loyang, Pasir Ris and beyond, this is a showcase of the community’s history and heritage.
