ENTER THE DRAGON - solo exhibition by Lok Kerk Hwang

Internationally-award-winning artist Lok Kerk Hwang, a Signature Member of the prestigious American Watercolour Society (AWS), presents his fifth solo watercolour painting exhibition of draconic masterworks as we enter the Dragon Year of the Chinese Zodiac in 2024. Drawing from the rich tapestry of Chinese civilisation, his artistic journey takes us on an exploration of oriental icons and elements, weaving together a vivid narrative of tradition and symbolism. Within this collection, the artist expertly captures the essence of dragon and lion sculptures, the intricacies of ancient Chinese architecture, and the deep symbolism associated with Chinese lanterns, representing wishes for peace and prosperity. The artist’s profound mastery of techniques allows him to intricately render details and complex textures, while the subjective perspective of his subjects, thoughtfully interwoven with dynamic shifts in colour, adds depth and dimension to the visual narrative.
