11th France + Singapore Photographic Arts Award Exhibition

Alliance Française is proud to showcase the top 10 finalists of the 11th France and Singapore Photography Arts Awards (FSPAA) where French and Singaporean artists showcase their creative talents via experimental and emerging styles of photographic art for this year’s theme: Interlude.

An Interlude is the short interval between a play or a concert. It is a liminal space that often calls for reflection and introspection, solitude amidst the chaos and uncertainty. Due to the outbreak of the pandemic, we have adapted to new routines and reconsidered the normalcy in our lives. An interlude is rather synonymous with the period we have spent in isolation where time seems to have stood still and a warm invitation for new beginnings.

A new exhibition by Y2ARTS which re-contextualizes the works by their stable of artists, Vertical Horizon brings focus upon an often overlooked aspect of art making – the dimensionality of paintings.
