Created by Francis Ng, the WAS I HERE Movement 2021 aims to connect people and communities in a threefold social art programme to engage, to educate and to empower, sharing the healing and joy that art brings for the benefit of society. Amidst a time of renewal once barren places regain a semblance of normality. The question, WAS I HERE? emanates core themes of presence, identity and place. Through WAS I HERE’s threefold social art programme, comprising a public installation, a digital experience and artist-led workshops, the timely movement calls to attention our common identity as inhabitants of our shared space and moments.

'A Truly WAS I HERE Moment' Social Art Programme is a time-based and text-based workshop that provides audience an opportunity to experience a guided tour of the public sculpture in situ, and to partake in a digital experience cum hands-on workshop, where they will explore, respond to and engage with the core concepts of identity, space and time. Participants will also express their newfound artistic sensibilities and sensitivity towards time-based materials, and get a rare insider's look at the process of an acclaimed local artist during the workshop.
