The Three of Us presents a group exhibition of three artists – Janka Szabad, Raymond Yap and Warren Khong. Introducing works that have nothing to do with the ongoing global pandemic, but were nonetheless created during the course of the pandemic, this show offers an insight into the practices of three very dissimilar artists in terms of their profession, ideologies and temperament.
Janka Szabad is a German and Swiss visual artist and former Dentist who lives and works in Singapore. She explores in her practice materials and media with a focus on changes and challenges.
Raymond Yap uses a multi-layered approach to creating a push and pull between positive and negative space, and reflecting positive and negative compositions seek to expand the visual vocabulary and to draw emphasis on the interchangeability of languages in art. He continually questions the surface and spatial relations via drawing and painting mediums, immersing them until they become a single thing.
Warren Khong situates his practice in the investigation of materiality in art to push the possibilities of representation in painting and drawing, as well as their reception.
