As part of the exhibition Networked Bodies, Sudhee Liao will be performing Going Live: Enigmatic Perception, an online performance that examines how social media has transformed interpersonal relationships through a livestream dance performance. The livestream performance will see Liao responding in real time to live comments and feedback on Instagram-live. In this performance Liao literally performs the digital self, clashing the virtual and the real clash. Through it, Liao investigates how individuals, present and perform their digital selves and subsequently modify and alter them through such virtual relationships.

Audiences are encouraged to participate with Liao during the performance. The performance will be streamed live on Facebook and Instagram.

During this workshop participants will actively explore the physical and conceptual possibilities for collective motion in networked bodies, through a series of web-based explorations. Beginning with an introduction to www.grindruberairbnb.exposed, participants will collectively create a sequence of actions to perform together. Following this, participants will explore a new iteration of the artwork where the group can collectively shape the performance as it unfolds. The workshop will close with a discussion about the conceptual and practical possibilities of collective motion in networked bodies.

As part of the opening weekend event for Networked Bodies, Bani Haykal and Kin Leonn will be performing an audio piece live in the exhibition space. The performance will also be streamed live on Facebook.

Limited to 6 participants
Join Sudhee Liao in an experimental online movement workshop where creativity, improvisation and personality as keys to finding oneself. Participants can expect to learn postural basics and movement mechanics; activating both the body and one’s self-awareness. Emphasis will be placed on the detailed and complex structure of the moving body and our emotions connected to it. Through this workshop, by learning how to make emotions accessible to oneself, participants can use the body to discover different ways of taking control of their own physical instrument.
No prior dance training is required, all participants are welcomed.
