An immersive art installation, Compartment by CTRL UNIT is a participatory environment where audiences experience a sanctuary of chambers built during these tough times. But alike two sides of a coin, the sense of relief soon reveals that refuge is only momentary. Overtime, an indulge of the makeshift merely deepens a desire for authenticity, spurring a call to step out in good faith into the unknown.
Presented as a passageway of domains, it tells the narrative of the human’s collective efforts to move ahead as we counteract the disruption of the pandemic to our lives. Created using a multitude of digital mediums and an interactive mixed media, the spaces emit moods and atmospheres that provokes thought, reflection, and empathy. Audiences will be led to interact with parts of the domain and create their own experiential journeys. As the walls develop over the span of its existence, the audience would be compelled to ponder the dilemma of the shelters we built to surround us.
