BungaWari: Disentangling the Romance of Sundanese Textiles

In Bungawari, Sang Hyang Sri is a heavenly female figure who represents the essence of life and creations, including magnificent textiles. Behind the beauty of woven textiles made of wari flowers lies a deep philosophy – cotton flowers are the basic components of textile and the body of life. BungaWari: Disentangling the Romance of Sundanese Textiles presents Agnes Christina's interpretations of old Sudanese palm-leaf manuscripts and weaving processes to illustrate contemporary femininity, sexuality, spirituality, and vulnerability.
