Timestream is a metaphorical conception of time as a stream due to the nature of how we tend to think about time – that it only moves forward and never stops. What if there is a space where this stream flows into and accumulates into a reservoir? A reservoir of time. A space with tributaries from across different points of the timestream flowing in at different rates, where the past, present, and future exist simultaneously.
This exhibition is a study on our relationship with time through an artistic lens, striving to prompt alternative ways of thinking about and perceiving time. Comprising works by five artists working across a range of disciplines, the artworks form connections through the visual metaphor of a reservoir and the contemplation of time.
A Reservoir of Time is presented by Objectifs under Curator Open Call 2023.
